Laura Linney has been hailed as one of America's most well-known actors. Her fame is for playing strong characters who are equally fragile. She was raised by a single, unmarried mother who was a nurse. Her interest in theatre during the summers spent by her famous father. Her studies in acting were through Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. Starting her acting career on the Broadway shortly after her graduation, she made her debut in film within two years and on television following a year. Her appearances have been on a variety of stages, films and television programs since. There were many awards she received throughout her career including four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. In spite of her many nominations, she has a passion for theatre and has appeared on both screen and stage.
