She was born on March 29 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina is the given name of her. Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico to Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. Her heritage is Mexican American but has American nationality. Her desire to play sports started as a young child. Gerina began playing golf when she was 15 years old. Gerina attended Goddard High School for her higher education in high school. The school won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament in her high school years. As a volleyball player, she participated in state championships. In the year 2003 she began her studies at the University of Texas. In her final year, she took home every single tournament she competed in. In her college career, she was named Conference USA individual champion player of the year and UTEP Female Athlete of the Year.
